Squaw Peak Engagement Run Down
I'm going to walk you through the steps of this whole photoshoot and include a few tips and tricks along the way! Community over competition. If you want to learn even more from a one-on-one with me head here for more information about my mentoring sessions!
One of my favorite parts of a session is getting to know the couple. It's exciting to learn how they met, how he proposed, how long they have been dating, what they like to do together, etc. I met these two at a nearby grocery store and then drove up the canyon together. I got to learn so much about them and see how they interact with each other just from the drive up. I coul ...

Emma & Jesse
So here's the deal... before this shoot I was feeling SO DOWN about my photography. Being an artist means riding a constant roller coaster. One minute you feel like the best photographer in the world, and the next you feel like chucking your camera off a cliff. Before they came to pick me up, I was searching Pinterest for inspiration of how I wanted this shoot to feel. I knew Emma had a contagious smile and I knew I wanted to capture that. I also knew I wanted to capture the emotions that they were feeling and have been feeling through this whole adventure of falling in love with each other. We had so much fun laughing and shooting. (and stop ...

Mountain Anniversary Shoot
I shot Camille and Tanner's wedding a year ago and when Camille asked me to take anniversary pictures for them I was SO excited. They are such a fun and loving couple and I was pumped that I got to hangout with them again. I love anniversary shoots for multiple reasons. One being that I get to see my cute couples again and two... I get to see how much their love has grown after a year of being married. These pictures were shot at Tibble Fork Reservoir in Utah. For all you Utah people, the reservoir is CRAZY full right now and the deadness of winter has finally gone away. GREEN MOUNTAINS STAY FOREVER. please.

As I was scrolling through my instagram feed last night, (you know the typical nightly routine of getting completely sucked into a black hole of stalking your high school friend’s boyfriend’s brother who recently got engaged to a girl that has the cutest dog) I noticed I was following some accounts that I didn’t love. They weren’t bad accounts or anything, but they didn’t reflect who I was and I didn’t really love the content they were posting. I remember following them ...

Jessica & Jordan’s Rocky Engagements
For whatever reason you have to evacuate your house and you can only take ONE item with you. (your family and pets are safe) WHAT WOULD IT BE. Am I the only one that thinks of this question daily? yes? k. cool.
Here are some happy engagements to scroll through while you ponder the above question.

Olympic National Park
Last year I decided to invest in an amazing workshop hosted by some pretty incredible people. The Alpine Northwest workshop (@alpinenorthwest or alpinenw.photo/) was an experience that led me to new friends and much needed inspiration. I added a little 'Behind The Scenes' picture at the end of this post showing the madness that went on behind the cameras.

Big Sur Engagements
There are two things in this world that speak straight to my soul. First is photography (obviously) and second is music. In my opinion, they go hand in hand. Each shoot I do has it's own song, beat, and rhythm. Music and photographs both capture every type of emotion. When you see a picture of someone who has dealt with depression for the past ten years, you can see it in their eyes. When you hear a sad song, you feel the heartbreak of not just the person who wrote the song, but your OWN heartbreak. Looking at these pictures, I don't just see a beautiful couple, breathtaking cliffs, and the endless sea in the background... I feel the rhythm o ...

After admiring their faces for at least a year, I FINALLY got to shoot with Nicolette (@nicolettepaige) and Colby (@colby_fratto). Their happiness and kindness shows in these pictures. We were planning on shooting at this location for a hot second before heading out to Salt Lake City to hopefully get a "better" location. But as we started shooting, I realized something... It's not about the location! Shooting in Salt Lake City instead of this random building wouldn't have magically made the shoot better. So instead of focusing on WHERE we were shooting, I focused on WHAT I was trying to capture. I didn't care about cool backgrounds or scener ...

Lately I have felt stuck inside a box that has a huge sign on the front of it saying "No Creativity Allowed." I love photography and it is my passion, but it can be so difficult to stay creative. One minute I'm on a creative high, and the next I don't even have a single creative bone in my body. I kept trying to step outside my box and do something that wasn't me. But, I realized that I didn't need to get outside of my box, I just needed to take off the sign. One day I was scrolling through Amazon (always saving lives, am I right?) and I found this diamond and the rest is history.

Wildflowers and Bridals
I love answering questions about photography. What's better than talking about your passion and what you love? A couple weeks ago, I asked on instagram what questions people had for me and the response I received was incredible. When I was first starting out as a photographer, I had so many questions. Part of me wanted to message one hundred photographers and find my answers, but the other part of me felt dumb for asking simple questions. So, I resulted to YouTube to avoid humiliation.
Well, can I tell you a secret? EVERYONE STARTS SOMEWHERE. Nobody becomes a good photographer overnight. It takes practice, time, research, and asking questi ...
