So here’s the deal… before this shoot I was feeling SO DOWN about my photography. Being an artist means riding a constant roller coaster. One minute you feel like the best photographer in the world, and the next you feel like chucking your camera off a cliff. Before they came to pick me up, I was searching Pinterest for inspiration of how I wanted this shoot to feel. I knew Emma had a contagious smile and I knew I wanted to capture that. I also knew I wanted to capture the emotions that they were feeling and have been feeling through this whole adventure of falling in love with each other. We had so much fun laughing and shooting. (and stopping for a mid-shoot drink) I went home and couldn’t wait to edit a few of the pictures. After I sent a sneak peek I received a text that reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. It’s not all about the pretty backdrops and dresses. It’s the laughs, eye rolls, whispers, gentle forehead kisses, and lasting memories that really get me. So basically I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Photography is full of ups and downs, but the ups definitely outweigh the downs. I’m lucky to be a part of such a special time in people’s lives.
A very good article, thank you!
